Neversink Farm lies at the base of
The Neversink River Valley. This river bottom farm land is rich and fertile Otisville
Sandy Loam and perfect for growing mixed vegetables. The Neversink River flowing
through the middle of the farm is a model of healthy unspoiled
rivers not only
in this highly protected NYC watershed but across the country. In these ideal conditions we grow a wide
variety of organic produce.
We grow and
sell more than 100 types of fruits and vegetables. All of our vegetables are
grown from seed here on the farm. This way we can control everything that
is
fed to our plants throughout their lives, and we can limit our off-farm
dependencies. The
seed we purchase is mostly from farmer’s cooperatives and never, with our
knowledge, sourced from any Monsanto owned companies. Our seed is always
non-gmo.
We grow our produce without chemicals or pesticides and practice sustainable farming methods. Planting, cultivating, and harvesting is all done by hand. Machinery is only used for primary tillage and potato harvesting. All of our vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers are certified organic by NOFA-NY certified organic llc.
